The collection contains the manuscript of "The weaker sex, a paper in the pigeon hole of the District Attorney." In a letter to a Mr. Shubrick, 1879 December 3, Stimson discusses social events, engagements and activities of friends. He also comments on Shubrick's artistic endeavors and expresses a few thoughts on ancient vs modern art and ideas. In a letter to J. W. Black, 1888 April 27, promises to send a short story by summer, mentions his pen name J. S. of Dale, and notes the death of a young daughter and the serious illness of another.
